Help for Isofall.
How to play, answers to common questions, and a way to reach the developer.
How to play
Tap Let's play on the title screen. The same five steps are in the app's quick guide: tap the question-mark button at any time.
-
Think in three dimensions
Blocks fall into a well with an 8 × 8 floor and 10 layers of space. Swipe anywhere on the board to move your block along the floor. Follow the diagonal grid lines, or drag farther to cross several spaces. The four arrow buttons work too, one space at a time.
-
Find the right fit
Spin turns the block around its vertical axis. Tilt rolls it forward. The outlined cubes show exactly where it will land.
-
Make a little room
Tap Drop block to place it. Fill all 64 spaces in any horizontal layer to clear that layer. Blocks above it fall down. The pace rises every five layers.
-
Three specials. Your call.
You get three random special blocks per game. Tap Use a random special whenever you need one, aim it, then tap Drop block. Use one at a time. Your regular piece waits while the special is in play, and when all three are gone there are no more until your next game.
-
Leave space at the top
Your run ends when the next block cannot enter the well. Your best score stays on your iPhone.
The three special blocks
- Plane block
- The striped cube. Erases the horizontal layer it lands on (the floor layer if nothing is beneath it).
- Blast block
- The burst cube. Clears an 8 × 8 × 8 area around where it lands, clipped to the well.
- Color block
- The ring cube. Starts with a random target color; tap Color while it falls to cycle through all six (mint, coral, lavender, gold, blue and rose). It removes every cube of that color in the well.
Special blocks disappear on impact. The remaining cubes settle into the gaps under gravity, and any layers that become full are then cleared and scored. Regular pieces never turn into specials on their own.
Scoring and speed
- Drop block earns 2 points for every space the piece falls.
- Clearing layers earns 100 points for one layer, 300 for two at once, 600 for three and 1,000 for four, multiplied by your current level.
- Your level goes up every five cleared layers. Blocks start by falling one space every 1.8 seconds, and each level is about 10% faster.
- Your best score is saved automatically on your iPhone.
Sound, haptics, pause and help
- Tap the question-mark button, on the title screen or during a game, to open the quick guide.
- In the guide, the Sound effects and Touch feedback switches work independently, so you can turn off sound, haptics or both. Your choices stay on your iPhone.
- Tap the pause button at the top right during a game. From there you can Keep playing, Start fresh with a new game, or go Back to title.
Frequently asked questions
Is Isofall free?
Yes. Isofall is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Where can I get Isofall?
Isofall is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone. This site will link to it as soon as it is available.
Does Isofall need an internet connection?
No. Isofall plays entirely offline and does not use the network.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, log-in or account of any kind.
Does Isofall collect my data?
No. The game has no analytics, advertising or tracking, and it sends nothing to the developer. Your best score and your sound and touch-feedback settings are stored only on your iPhone. The privacy policy has the details.
How do I reset my best score?
There is no reset button. Your best score lives only on your iPhone, so deleting the app removes it along with your settings. Restoring your iPhone from a backup made earlier may bring the old score back.
Which devices does Isofall support?
Isofall is made for iPhone and needs iOS 17 or later. It plays in portrait orientation.
How do I turn off the sound or vibration?
Tap the question-mark button, then switch off Sound effects, Touch feedback, or both.
Why can't I use another special block?
Only one special can be in play at a time, and each game has three. Once all three are used, the button stays disabled until you start a new game.
When does a game end?
When the next block cannot enter the well. Keeping space free near the top gives you more time.
